"The Campo Trincerato di Roma Association, together with the Department of Architecture (DIAR) at La Sapienza University in Rome, has put together a publication edited by Gangemi on the re-use of Roman forts. The publication is a further sign of the growing interest in this topic, on behalf of institutions, the press and public administration. It would by no means be a first in Italy, nevertheless the systemic re-use of the ring of 15 Roman forts (which include the Prenestino Fort social centre, or even the Monte Mario Fort, or the Portuense Fort) would represent a precious resource for the city, in terms of what the public socio-cultural arena can offer, through a network of public spaces for the city's residents.
